HOW TO ENROLL
Your online application includes submitting a video audition link. See Audition Requirements.
Once your application is completed, LSM Admissions will contact you to confirm your enrollment. Confirm your attendance with a deposit of $250, due within 30 days of acceptance to secure your place.
If you’ve already started an application or fully enrolled, visit your LSM Dashboard> to complete your application, make changes to your enrollment details or payments toward your tuition.
Application Fee Schedule for LSM 2024
WAIVED if application is received by October 31, 2023.
$25 if application is received between November 1 - December 31, 2023.
$50 if application is received between January 1-February 29, 2024.
$75 if application is received between March 1-April 30, 2024.
**$150 LATE REGISTRATION** if application is received between May 1-15, 2024. Final application deadline is May 15, 2024.

Audition Requirements
Vocal
One vocal solo work demonstrating technical skills and musical expression
Keyboard accompaniment is preferable
Wind, Brass, and Strings
One instrumental solo work demonstrating technical skills and musical expression
Two major and two minor scales
Keyboard accompaniment is preferable, unless not required by the score
Percussion
Demonstrate technical skills and musical expression on 2-3 percussion instruments, which may include snare, mallet instruments, and timpani.
Two major and two minor scales (if including a mallet instrument).
Piano/Organ
One solo work demonstrating technical skills and musical expression
Two piano/organ major and two minor scales
Keyboard students are required to participate in a large ensemble and must submit one solo work on another instrument or voice. Less experienced vocalists may sing a one-octave scale on "la" and the melody of a familiar hymn or folk tune.
Harp
One or two solo works demonstrating range of technical skills and musical expression
Guitar
One or two solo works demonstrating range of technical skills and musical expression
Composition
Students who are auditioning for primary composition placement must submit:
Two sample manuscripts of their original work. Manuscripts can be sent via email or mail and will not be returned. All submissions must be in written form; recordings will not be accepted.
An audition recording of their secondary instrument or voice for large ensemble placement.
Refunds
If a student withdraws:
• On or before April 1, 2024: a 100% refund will be provided for families less the deposit and application fee. Local funds from churches or other community organizations will also be refunded as requested.
• On or before May 15, 2024: a 50% refund will be provided for families less the deposit and application fee. Local funds from churches or other community organizations will also be refunded as requested.
• On or before June 1, 2024: 25% of all non-match eligible payments received, less the deposit and application fee will be refunded. Local funds from churches or other community organizations will also be refunded as requested.
• On or before June 15, 2024: Match eligible funds are refundable to churches and organizations only. No other refunds will be provided.
ONCE THE ACADEMY IS IN SESSION, in any event that you are dismissed or you decide to withdraw for any reason, fees will not be refunded. It will be your responsibility to repay or otherwise keep good faith with congregations or other persons who contributed financial support directly to you. Lutheran Music Program is not responsible for repayment or refund of any funds which were not awarded directly by the Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival.
