LSM students are guaranteed a minimum $2,000 Concordia Music Scholarship when they apply and audition, renewable each year of study. In addition, through the Concordia Promise, 100% of tuition is covered for households with an Adjusted Gross Income under $90,000.
There are 19 major music ensembles at Concordia, including The Concordia Choir, The Concordia Orchestra, and The Concordia Band. Each year, Concordia ensembles embark on domestic and international tours, creating performance opportunities in some of the most remarkable venues, including Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.
The Emmy® Award-winning Concordia Christmas Concerts are one of the country’s most anticipated Christmas traditions, with concerts on campus, in the Twin Cities, and broadcast nationally on public television. Featuring more than 300 student musicians and five ensembles, the entire campus celebrates this tradition together.
The Concordia Orchestra has recently won the American Prize, which recognizes and rewards the best performances by orchestras in America.
LSM and Concordia College have historically shared many faculty members, currently including Dr. Kevin Sütterlin (orchestra), Dr. David Eyler (percussion), and Thomas Bandar (viola). Concordia students often return to LSM as Fellows, enabling students to take on leadership roles and gain invaluable teaching experience.
