Biography

Hannah Johnsrud (LSM ’10-’13) is delighted to be returning to LSM as Sacristan this summer! After spending four high school summers making music (oboe, piano, voice) and some of the best friends of her life at LSM, Hannah moved from her hometown of Milton, WA to Nashville, TN to attend Vanderbilt University. There she studied Middle Eastern Studies and actively participated in music both academically and in church. Hannah then spent a year living in Jerusalem and the West Bank as a part of the ELCA’s Young Adults in Global Mission program, living and serving alongside the Palestinian Christian community in the Bethlehem area. Hannah is currently a second-year seminary student at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC), on track for ordination into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament in the ELCA. At LSTC she serves on Chapel Staff, working as a team lead to help plan and facilitate daily worship services for the entire seminary community. Hannah lives with her cat, Philippians (Pippa), in Chicago and enjoys curling up with a cup of coffee and a good book, crocheting not-very-well, cooking tasty food for friends, and, of course, music!
