Biography

Keith Alcius (LSM ‘09, ‘10, ‘11, ‘12, ‘13), originally from Naples, Florida, began playing the tuba in the sixth grade. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Tuba Performance from Baldwin Wallace University and a Master of Music in Tuba Performance from New England Conservatory. His career has included performing with Akron Symphony Orchestra, Hot Tamale Brass Band and Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra. He was a finalist in the Leonard Falcone International Tuba and Euphonium Festival. He has been an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and a part of the Miami Music Festival.

As an educator, Keith has taught masterclasses and adjudicated competitions in the middle and high school levels throughout Greater Houston and Upstate New York. He is a spirited advocate of music education who enjoys providing one-on-one and group lessons to local communities. Currently, he maintains a low brass studio that is accessible for all low brass students at the junior high and high school levels in the United States.
